Real Estate Options

  • € 250,000 investment purchase of commercial property plus applicable taxes
    OR € 500,000 investment purchase in Mykonos, Santorini, Thessaloniki, and most municipalities in Athens
  • A 10 year lease arrangement for hotel accommodation or leased tourist residences in tourist lodging complexes.
  • A 10-year time-sharing agreement for hotel accommodation (Law 1652/1986)

Other Options:

Capital Transfer
  • Place a term deposit of at least € 400,000 to a local commercial bank for at least one year, with a renewed standing order.
Capital Contribution
  • Investors aiming to acquire shares or bonds traded on regulated markets or multilateral trading mechanisms in Greece at the time of issue must contribute a minimum of € 400,000 in capital. This requirement applies to companies based or established in Greece, excluding portfolio and real estate investment firms.
  • Contribute a minimum of € 400,000 to a real estate investment company (as per Article 21 of Law 2778/1999) that will exclusively finance stock purchases in a share capital expansion within Greece.
  • Invest a minimum of € 400,000 in a closed-end investment company for share acquisition or in a closed-end mutual fund for share acquisition, provided that these alternative financing institutions exclusively invest in companies headquartered or established in Greece
Bonds, Shares, and/or Government Bonds
  • Acquire Greek bonds valued at a minimum of € 400,000 with a remaining maturity of at least three years at the time of purchase through a Greek credit institution, which will also serve as the bonds’ custodian
  • Acquire shares or corporate bonds valued at a minimum of € 800,000, which are registered or traded on regulated markets or multilateral trading systems in Greece
  • Invest a minimum of € 400,000 in units of a mutual fund incorporated in Greece or another country, to invest in shares, corporate bonds, and/or Greek government bonds accepted for trading or traded on regulated markets or international trading platforms in Greece
  • Hold units or shares of an alternative investment fund established in Greece or another EU country, which primarily aims to invest in real property in Greece, with a minimum purchase price of € 400,000.
